We know that having a newborn in intensive care can be one of the most difficult and emotional experiences a parent can face, so we wanted to offer a tangible reminder that they’re not alone.

Joy has no age limit! This month, we had the incredible opportunity to visit the Springs of Catawba assisted living facility right here in Hickory, NC, where we hosted a fun-filled carnival for the residents. From fun prizes to classic games and cheerful volunteers, every detail was designed to bring smiles and laughter to the elderly members of our community.

At Sy Church, we believe in showing up with both compassion and practical care—and our February 2024 outreach was a beautiful example of that.

Every child deserves to feel seen, loved, and remembered—especially at Christmastime. For our December 2024 outreach, we were honored to partner with Angel Tree, a ministry that helps incarcerated parents stay connected with their children through the simple yet powerful gift of a Christmas present.

The love of Christ is most powerfully expressed through action—especially in times of crisis. That’s why for our October 2024 outreach, we partnered with Samaritan’s Purse to provide hands-on relief to those affected by Hurricane Helene. Over the course of the month, we sent out two dedicated teams on separate dates to serve storm survivors in hard-hit areas, working alongside disaster response crews to meet urgent needs and offer hope to families facing overwhelming loss.

At Sy Church, we believe that every child deserves to start the school year with confidence and a sense of excitement. That’s why our annual “Back to School in Style” event is such a special outreach for us.

We hosted a special “Christmas in July” initiative to bless the 184 children currently in the foster care system in Catawba County. 

For our May outreach, we had the honor of serving our community through a Laundromat Outreach, where we paid for people’s laundry, helped fold clothes, and took time to pray for those who desired it. 

In April, we had the incredible privilege of visiting Springs of Catawba, an assisted living facility that is home to approximately 60 senior adults. 

We had the privilege of partnering with Catawba County Hospice House to brighten the days of patients and their families through our gift basket outreach initiative.

For the month of February, we got together to pray specifically for Outreach, seeking God's heart for Catawba County and His guidance on how we can be vessels of His love and compassion.

With freezing temperatures this month, the homeless are in need of many items to help them get through the rest of winter.

We were able to give to our community in TWO different ways in the month of December!

In the month of November we decided to encourage our church members to do their own personal Outreach.

We LOVE our First Responders!

We did it again! Over $1,600 given away in free gas gift cards!

Over 300 backpacks full of school supplies given away and over 70 free haircuts given to kids in our community!
